Opposing Socialism, Marxism and Communism Still Apparently a Confusing Concept for Some ‘Conservatives’

I am simply at a loss anymore with some “Righty” bloggers. I’m beginning to believe more strongly now that these three semi-major bloggers simply don’t like Rush Limbaugh and are jealous of his influence and so are deliberately joining with the Left in smearing him. Because I really can’t believe these three are this fucking dense.

Via HotAir: Flashback: Minutes before 9/11 attacks, Carville said he hoped Bush wouldn’t succeed

One is that Carville changed his mind instantly once the country shifted to a crisis footing whereas Rush keeps hoping for failure even as the economy disintegrates.

He keeps hoping for failure of policies that he believes are going to make things worse. This is, for some Ace, AllahPundit, Patterico, et al, apparently a confusing concept.

Jim Treacher on March 11, 2009 at 2:50 PM

Bingo. I’m simply baffled why the three stooges, and those who agree with them, simply *still* do not get it.

We have a patient (American economy) who is seriously ill. The Doctor (Obama) wants to do a major operation to completely reconstruct the inner workings of the patient’s body in order to ‘save’ him. The patient has had this serious illness before and previous doctors have helped cure him by doing certain procedures. Yet, this doctor wants to ignore that and do something drastically different and more extreme, that will probably make things even worse and has been proven to fail in the past when tried on other patients.

Now, any logical thinking person would hope that the doctor fails in his attempt to perform such surgery and those urging for the old ways to cure the illness will succeed. But those such as Ace and AllahPundit and Patterico translate that to mean that those wishing for the doctor to fail in performing that surgery are also wishing for the patient to die.

I seriously had no idea that Ace, AllahPundit and Patterico were that dense.

Absolutely spot-on comment:

One is that Carville changed his mind instantly once the country shifted to a crisis footing whereas Rush keeps hoping for failure even as the economy disintegrates.

The economy is distintegrating because Obama is currently succeeding in getting his agenda through. If he were failing, the economy would be showing signs of life.

landshark on March 11, 2009 at 2:56 PM

And again, I just am baffled as to how some conservatives can’t understand this concept.

And that was the damn point of Rush saying he hoped Obama failed before Obama was even inaugurated! Because he wanted Obama to fail in implementing socialism, communism and Marxism in this country! What the bloody hell is so difficult for people to understand about this??!!

Excellent. Someone else who at least gets it:

The economy is disintegrating AP BECAUSE of Obama’s reckless policies. AP not only misrepresents what Rush says but creates a ’straw man’ argument (economy disintegrates) that has NO RELATION to what Rush ever said.

The timing of what Rush said is important. When asked about his hope for the administration, Rush said he hoped he fails. He has, so far, succeeded and the country has suffered, at least economically. So far, Rush has been borne out. The timing is a point worth making.

Though, I well suspect that no one’s minds will be changed now. This issue has become one of pride and prejudice.

Spirit of 1776 on March 11, 2009 at 3:15 PM

And another:

Two potential points of distinction for the left here. One is that Carville changed his mind instantly once the country shifted to a crisis footing whereas Rush keeps hoping for failure even as the economy disintegrates.

Allah, I’m starting to think that your problem is neurological.

The second point is the one Patterico hits on in this post, i.e. the difference between hoping Obama fails at implementing his agenda and hoping that his agenda fails after it’s implemented.

Patterico’s problem seems to be congenital.

Once more, for the hard-of-thinking:

Lenin succeeded.
Lenin’s policies were all failures.
Russia suffered through hell for decades.

Do you think that Russia would have been better off if Lenin had FAILED?

This is getting to be so pathetic … Get a grip, Allah.

progressoverpeace on March 11, 2009 at 3:20 PM

I agree. This is getting pathetic. Instead of hoping our asshole President and Democrat Party fail in implementing socialism, half our side is criticizing the other half for wanting socialism to fail. Brilliant.

Many Seem to Regard Moral Retardation as a Sort of Turn-on

I actually laughed out loud at this comment left at Ace of Spades HQ. Even though the authors of that site seem to have lost track of their manhood and spines the last few weeks, I can always depend on most of the commentors to see and express things clearly:

Chicks love Barry. It’s his chiseled physique and his Pepsodent smile, his smooth baritone voice, and his come-hither look. Sure, he’s an idiot; but that’s never deterred the ladies before. In fact, many if not most of them seem to regard moral retardation as a kind of turn-on. He can smack them around all he wants, and they’ll cry to their friends about how “he’s a really good person” and “he’s just under a lot of pressure right now”.

The scary thing is that even the dudes are going weak in the knees. David Brooks, Frum, all the rest. I can imagine the old “I’m not gay but if I had to” conversations at the local watering hole.

It’s a mystery to me, but I’ve long since become accustomed to the fact that most of my fellow human beans are complete fucking idiots. People never change. It’s comforting, in a way.

Heh. A few women friends of mine come to mind immediately upon reading this. I still remember them gushing over Obama during the campaign and being all bubbly talking about their support of him and sporting their bumper stickers and their yard signs and their pins on their purses and clothes. Ah yes, they were so proud of their country and so proud of themselves to be supporting the cool, Black guy as much as they were so condescending and sneering in their criticism of Governor Sarah Palin.

Simply amazing how some women can be this utterly stupid, ignorant and naive to ignore all the warning signs of this fraud.

When the Left is Right and the Right is Wrong

Now I really am flabbergasted. To see that a liberal Democrat better understands the issue of the Left/White House/Democrats/mass media attacking a private citizen than many on my own side of the political aisle? Sad.

Here’s Camile Paglia (via HotAir Headlines) with spot-on analysis of the situation:

Case in point: The orchestrated attack on radio host Rush Limbaugh, which has made the White House look like an oafish bunch of drunken frat boys. I returned from carnival in Brazil (more on that shortly) to find the Limbaugh affair in full flower. Has the administration gone mad? This entire fracas was set off by the president himself, who lowered his office by targeting a private citizen by name. Limbaugh had every right to counterattack, which he did with gusto. Why have so many Democrats abandoned the hallowed principle of free speech? Limbaugh, like our own liberal culture hero Lenny Bruce, is a professional commentator who can be as rude and crude as he wants.

Yes, I cringe when Rush plays his “Barack the Magic Negro” satire or when he gratuitously racializes the debate over Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who is a constant subject of withering scrutiny for quite different reasons on sports shows here in Philadelphia. On the other hand, I totally agree with Rush about “feminazis,” whose amoral tactics and myopic worldview I as a dissident feminist had to battle for decades. As a student of radio and a longtime listener of Rush’s show, I have gotten a wealth of pleasure and insight from him over the years. To attack Rush Limbaugh is to attack his audience — and to intensify the loyalty of his fan base.

Exactly. And to fail to defend Rush on an unfair smear and attack is to fail to defend his audience (the vast majority of whom are conservatives) and most times, conservatism in general. There is nothing that Rush has stated that for which he is being smeared that doesn’t represent any logical, unbrainwashed person’s opinion about the socialist, communist Barack Obama: we all want him – in his efforts to transform America through socialist and communist policies – to FAIL. For self-proclaimed conservative or GOP-voting bloggers to not be able to defend that sentiment against the smears and attacks of the Left is simply baffling.

There are lots of great comments at the HotAir link, but this one drove me to leave my own comment of frustration:

Paglia makes sense regarding Rush because she actually listens to his program. Unlike everyone else offering their “advice” and “opinion” on Rush’s meaning, motive, whatever. To think that a liberal Democrat understands the situation better than members of the Grand Old Party Ace and other authors at Ace of Spades HQ, Patterico and AllahPundit.

conservative pilgrim on March 11, 2009 at 10:15 AM

You’re spot-on. I bet if you took a poll of all the wussified geniuses who don’t have the balls to man up and defend our side against smears and attacks by the Left, Administration, Democrats and mass media, you would find the majority of them don’t even listen to Rush Limbaugh. And that most of those who are defending Rush against smears and attacks have actually listened to his show.

Those who are giving into the Left’s smears and attacks and arguing the issue based on the premise of the Left are hypocrites. They spend their time on their blogs criticizing the mass media and politicians for not knowing about the subjects of their reporting or not reading the laws on which they vote, yet here they pontificate and criticize and bash Rush Limbaugh (and his listeners and supporters) without having listened to his show. Brilliant hypocrisy.
