Extremely Disheartening, To Say the Least…
I’ve been reading through this comment thread at Ace of Spades HQ since last night (would have read it last night, except I had softball which thankfully took me away from the computer for most of the evening and night) and came across this great comment. My sentiments (and extreme frustration with conservatives) exactly:
“funny how Rush and Palin are what is wrong with the Republican Party. Not mush like Powell or Schwarzenegger. Not Specter/Snowe/Collins, leftists who, because they had R’s next to their names had to be catered to. Not McCain, another squish who told us what a fine guy obama was, certainly not a socialist. Not Steele, who giggled through a failed comedian’s statement on CNN that the Republican Convention looked like a Nazi Rally. Not Gingrich looking like a moron on a couch next to Pelosi. It’s the small tent conservatism of Limbaugh that’s the cause of what ails us.

Yeah, funny that. When Rush stands up for conservatism when none of the other supposed conservative leaders in the Republican Party are doing jack shit, and he gets smeared and demonized by everyone on the Left (mass media, Democrats, Obama, etc) then it’s Rush who is to blame and not to be defended from those smears. When Sarah Palin stands up for conservatism when none of the other supposed conservative leaders in the Republican Party are doing jack shit, and she gets smeared and demonized by everyone on the Left (mass media, Democrats, Obama, etc) then it’s Sarah Palin who is to blame and not to be defended from those smears.
Just freaking brilliant.
This Obama Administration, his propaganda arm of the mass media and his sycophantic cult worshipers are depressing enough. But even more depressing is knowing that Ace at Ace of Spades, AllahPundit and Ed Morrissey at HotAir and many others on the conservative-leaning blogosphere simply STILL just do.not.get.it that WE.ARE.AT.WAR.
I’ve stopped reading HotAir and now, after reading through that comments thread and seeing the comments of Ace there, I think I may stop reading Ace of Spades HQ as well. I used to go to both of these places in order to get fired up and inspired knowing there were many others out there who ‘got it’ about what we are facing in this country from our enemies (the Left, mass media, Democrats) and what we needed to do in order to defeat them. I no longer get that from reading those sites. In fact, I get the opposite. I end up feeling more depressed and more defeated when reading their defeatism.
Extremely disheartening, to say the least…
