AmeriCAN-DO Attitude

Are you an AmeriCAN or an AmeriCAN'T?

Dede Scozzofava was No Mistake. The GOP Wants to be a Liberal Party.

“That’s the thing… there is no point where someone is too liberal for the GOP.”

Well, honestly, I don’t know if they didn’t know her record or if they didn’t care. I’d put my money on “didn’t look too closely because they didn’t want to know”.

Incompetence or liberalism in the RNC? Don’t know and don’t know which is worse!

This is a pattern… that is why my opinion is that they knew her record and were fine with it.

In 2006, Conservatives stayed home, because they were pissed off at the GOP going “moderate” (read: becoming Democrats). What did the GOP learn from that? Nothing. They assumed they lost because of Bush or the war effort or because the GOP was “too conservative”.

So what did they do to try to win? Gave us John “La Raza” McCain. Gang of 14, La Raza, Amnesty, Global Warming, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, “you have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency”, etc. And the Conservatives stayed home en masse. What did the GOP learn from that? Nothing. They assumed they lost because the GOP was “too conservative”.

So what are they doing now to try to win? Give us Dede Scozzofava and telling us we need to bag conservatism and just run “moderates” everywhere to win.

This is a trend. There is no conservative leadership in the GOP, because they don’t want to be a conservative party. Period.
