2004 was the first election in which I voted. Yes, I was first legally eligible to vote in 1994, but took no interest in politics until 9/11/2001. I didn’t vote in 2002, because I still did not know enough about mid-term local candidates to know for whom I was voting.
But by Summer 2004, I was PSYCHED to cast my first ever vote to re-elect President George W. Bush.
In 2008, I was energized by GOP VP-candidate Sarah Palin, but not so much about GOP Presidential candidate John McCain. I was ready to not vote for President in the 2008 election… until I spent 2007 and 2008 researching the radical, despicable history of Barack Hussein Obama. I then spent all of 2008 doing my best to inform people of how radical was Obama and why we needed to vote for McCain/Palin simply to keep this radical and his radical associates from taking power in our government.
I managed to convince some, but, more often than not, I was faced with ignorance, apathy and racism. Not only people saying they were voting for Obama, because he was Black (the ultimate slap in the face to MLK, Jr’s dream), but also people calling ME racist simply because I disagreed with Obama’s policies…. none of which had anything to do with his skin color.
By the time November 2008 came, I was SO UTTERLY PISSED THE FUCK OFF at being called a racist for holding the same views I had held since 9/11/2001, that I was energized more than ever to vote for McCain/Palin and AGAINST Obama.
But, to no avail. I went into work that night (I was working 3rd shift as a CAD designer at the time) and was literally in tears of disbelief that America had voted Obama into office. It was one of the first slaps in the face of reality my naive self had experienced (the Islamic terrorist attacks of 09/11/2001 being the first), seeing bad triumph over good. I could not believe my countrymen could do such a thing. I was utterly heartbroken. And, as I said, I was holding back tears as I was utterly heartbroken, having my positive view of my fellow Americans utterly shattered in one night.
That night was arguably the night that I ‘became’ Rorschach: cynical, pessimistic negative about — and having lost all faith in — my fellow Americans.
The last four years have not gotten much better. Watching the utterly despicable behavior of the mass media serving as the propaganda outlet for the Obama Administration and Democrat Party; watching as every Democrat, every liberal, every media outlet turned every single criticism of Obama into accusations of “RACISM!!!”; watching as the Obama Administration did everything to actually make the American economy WORSE, yet seeing his poll numbers still stay high.
The last four years have been an absolute nightmare of epic proportions. Economy, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, unemployment, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, healthcare, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, demonizing “the rich”, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, promoting redistribution, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, foreign policy, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, religious freedom under attack, Democrats crying “RACISM!”, freedom of expresion under attack, etc RACISM!!! etc.
This is why I am even more psyched here in 2012 to vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and to evict the disaster that is SCOAMF Obama, his busy-body wife Michelle “you’ll only eat what I allow you to eat!” Obama, Valerie Jarrett, David Axelrod, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and all the rest of his radical czars and incompetent Administration cohorts.
November 6, 2012: the date my faith in America will be restored…
Pretty damn sad that the SCOAMF’s solutions for the piss-poor economy he created remind me of jokes from Friends.
A couple months ago, the same joke could have been made while Obama and the Democrats were pushing the ridiculous “war on women” smear.
“Obama’s got a really bad economy, but that’s nothing a little free contraceptives won’t fix!”
First he’ll fix the economy with contraceptives. Now he’ll fix the economy with gay marriage. I wonder what his next “fix” will be. If he even bothers to remember the economy at all…
[Scene: Central Perk, Chandler is reading on the couch while Joey, still suffering from his hernia, is returning with coffee for them both. After a series of grunts and groans he manages to painfully walk back from the counter, sit down, and slide Chandler his coffee.]
Chandler: Hey, will you grab me a cruller? (Joey starts to groan and get up.) Sit down! Will you go to the hospital?!
Joey: Dude! Hernia operations cost like, a lot probably. Besides it’s getting darker and more painful, that means it’s healing.
Chandler: I will loan you the money. Just go to the hospital and let’s just get that thing… pushed back in.
Joey: Thank you, but it would take me forever to pay you that money back and I don’t want that hanging over my head. Okay? Besides, as soon as my insurance kicks in I can get all the free operations I want! Yeah, I’m thinking I’ll probably start with that laser eye surgery too.
Phoebe: What’s going on?
Chandler: Oh Joey’s got a really bad hernia, but that’s nothing a little laser eye surgery won’t fix!
That’s the takeaway from President Putt-Putt’s recent speech on his desire for Amnesty: Obama: “That fence is now basically complete; They’ll never be satisfied.”
Bryan Preston sums it up nicely (emphasis added):
As predicted, the president spoke in El Paso, Texas today, where he conflated legal and illegal immigration, pushed for the DREAM Act, and showed his longstanding contempt for the rule of law as regards our immigration system. President Obama knows the DREAM Act is dead in the water, as is the overall push for “comprehensive immigration reform,” which is code for amnesty. Everyone knows all this, and everyone knows the policy is going to go nowhere for the remainder of Obama’s term.
He is pushing this issue now purely for politics. He is playing Hispanic voters for suckers while the national economy melts down, the way Nero played the fiddle while Rome burned. He has played them for suckers throughout his presidency.
Another astute observation from Mr. Preston:
Perhaps the worst line in the president’s speech came when, in pushing for the DREAM Act, called for the US to “stop punishing children for the sins of their parents.” He is referring to parents who travel to the US illegally, bringing their children with them. But for the most pro-abortion president in American history to utter that line, and not realize how it boomerangs back on his own stance favoring partial birth abortion, is repugnant. This president seems to have little moral sense about him.
Yes indeed. And if I remember correctly, the babies themselves are “punishments.”
So, apparently Obama believes it is a-okay to punish children with death for the sins of their parents when it comes to abortion, but sending kids off to Mexico with their parents for the sins of their parents is beyond the pale.
What an evil prick.
Via the Maha Rushie:
If your spouse has three different versions of a night out with the girls, she’s hiding something, right? No question about it, right? If your spouse has three different versions of a night out with the boys, he’s hiding something. Probably. Either that or he or she was so drunk they can’t remember and they have to make up different stories, but probably they’re hiding something.
Now, based on what everybody heard on this increasingly popular, growing-by-leaps-and-bounds radio program yesterday the reason the regime’s story keeps changing is they don’t want to say Obama ordered an assassination. Well, Holder goes out there and claims it was self-defense; they’re twisting themselves here in lot of different ways. But the fact is as we pointed out yesterday there was no way they were gonna take Bin Laden alive because that would have put them in an impossible political position. They’re not gonna subject Bin Laden to their own sissified policies.
They’re not gonna send him over here, not gonna give him an ACLU lawyer and not gonna promise him a trial, they’re not gonna do that to themselves. They would not do that. So apparently Obama was willing to pass up a possible treasure trove of information if Osama was taken alive. The political situation had to be certain here. We found Bin Laden. He was available for a kill shot any number of ways. He was defenseless. We caught him totally by surprise. It was important to say that Osama’s death was the result of some contorted version of self-defense. I mean, they tried out wearing a suicide vest under the pajamas!
They gave up on that and said, “Oh, there was an AK-47 within arm’s reach.” (chuckles) Now, we’ve been told that Bin Laden had been there for quite some time. The SEALs were there to kill him. The Reuters story, I believe. It was a kill mission. Like we care. But Obama cares, his base cares, he can’t admit it. So here’s where we are. Now, follow me on this. He ordered an assassination, and he can’t say it. He put us on a path to socialized medicine, and he can’t say it. The stimulus bill was a slush fund for public sector unions. He can’t say it. EPA regulations are back door cap and tax. He can’t say it.
He’s a card-carrying member of the radical left. He can’t say it. He has a leftist-inspired prejudice against the private sector. He can’t say it. Bill Ayers was his good friend. He can’t say it. He listened to every word in Jeremiah Wright’s church for 20 years. He can’t say it. And he has a real problem with Israel, but he can’t say it. That is why Obama has so many lame, phony, nonsensical versions of answers to simple questions: Because he can’t say what’s really going on. He has to hide who he is and what he’s doing. That’s all that needs to be said.
He has to hide who he is and what he’s doing — and he is “the most transparent president ever.” He has to hide who he is and what he’s doing, and that truth — that undeniable truth — is on display every day. How many versions are we on now in the aftermath here of what happened?
